Privacy Policy

Effective 31 October 2026

Cadence is a calendar app for macOS made by Kush Agarwal ("we", "us"). When you sign in with Google, Cadence asks to read and edit your Google Calendar events, read your Google Tasks, look up people in your Google Workspace directory so you can invite them, see your organisation's meeting rooms, and, only if you turn on email-aware briefings, read your Gmail. Cadence uses this data only to show your schedule, create and change events you ask it to, suggest invitees and free times, and write your daily briefing and meeting notes. Your data stays on your Mac. Your Google sign-in is kept in the macOS Keychain, and Cadence has no server of its own, so we never receive, store or see your calendar, contacts or email. Cadence has no ads, no analytics and no tracking.

The only time any of your data leaves your Mac, other than going to Google itself, is when you turn on an AI feature that uses a cloud provider. If you add your own Anthropic (Claude) or OpenAI API key, Cadence sends the event details and, if Gmail is on, the email subjects and short previews needed for that request directly to that provider. Those providers handle it under their own privacy policies. If you choose Apple's on-device model instead, nothing is sent anywhere. We do not sell, rent or share your data with anyone, and we do not use it for advertising or to train AI models. You can disconnect at any time by removing the account in Cadence's Settings, or by revoking access at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Deleting the app removes everything it stored on your Mac.

Cadence's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
